Project Surveyor
Join Our Team as a Project Surveyor at Utility Detection & Mapping (UDM).
Are you an experienced surveyor looking to take the next step in your career – with opportunities to diversify your skillset? UDM has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Surveyor to join our dynamic team based in Hobart.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple clients and jobs, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Independently manage your workload while liaising with the Survey Manager to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Utilise your expertise in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, and Leica Total Stations and GPS for accurate and efficient surveying.
- Adhere strictly to company QA procedures and policies to maintain our high standards.
- Work closely with team members to achieve collective success.
Experience:
- Relevant tertiary or TAFE qualifications in surveying or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years full-time experience in construction set out and Engineering & Utility Surveys
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Leica Total Stations, and GPS systems.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- CASA remote pilot licence (RePL) is highly desired but not essential.

Certified DBYD Locator
This is an excellent opportunity for a Certified DBYD Utility Locator to become a part of our growing Utilities Locating and Surveying team.
The role is full-time and predominantly field based, in which you will be able to draw on your demonstrated experience in a similar position.
To be considered for this position it is vital that you have the below requirements:
- Experience in underground asset location, with the ability to determine location, orientation and depth (Class B, C and D)
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian Standard AS5488-2019 for Subsurface Utility Identification
- Ability to accurately interpret DBYD plans / service authority records
- Ability to use a radio detection and / or GPR equipment
- Knowledge and ability on CCTV operation for drainage inspection
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding / use of QA systems
- A diligent attitude towards accuracy, efficiency and safety; and
- Construction White Card
- Dial Before You Dig accreditation
- Current Tasmanian Manual driver’s licence
